Recovery readiness terminology.
A shared vocabulary for enterprise recovery — the terms EnsureDR uses across the platform and the site.
- Recovery Readiness
- The measured ability of an organization to recover its business services, proven by executed, end-to-end recovery testing.
- Recovery Readiness Score (RRS)
- An executive-level metric that expresses enterprise recovery risk as a single number derived from real test results.
- Actual Recovery Time
- The recovery time measured during a real recovery test, as opposed to a target or contractual RTO.
- RTO (Recovery Time Objective)
- The target time within which a system or business service should be recovered after an incident.
- RPO (Recovery Point Objective)
- The maximum acceptable amount of data loss, measured in time, after an incident.
- Configuration Drift
- The gradual divergence between the recovery environment and production that silently undermines recovery.
- Recovery Orchestration
- The automated coordination of the steps and order required to recover a business service.
- Business Service
- A set of applications and infrastructure that together deliver a capability the business depends on.
- DRaaS
- Disaster Recovery as a Service — recovery delivered as a managed service by a provider.
- Failover
- The process of switching operations from production to a recovery environment.
- Dependency
- A system or service that another system requires in order to recover and operate correctly.
- Audit-Ready Evidence
- Documentation of recovery tests, findings, and corrective actions in a form that supports audit readiness.
